Who does not long for the carefree days of childhood and teenage years, when we could afford to fire up the console 5 minutes after waking up and – staying in our pyjamas – “lose” the whole day? This album perfectly describes the key word – melancholy. The joint recording by Cat.Finch and Pstyk, or Insert Coin, is an interesting resultant of numerous inspirations, we have here a sample not only from the NES, SNES, Sega or N64, but also a mass of beautiful synth melodies or catchy soul parts taken from dusty vinyl and cassettes, organic melodies and contrasting 8bit raw samples. This mood was perfectly sensed by Mateusz Mazak, responsible for the visual side of the release. His illustration depicting a classic slot machine adorns the fold-out cover for the cassette, and now also the CD.
